So here in Ohio in January it can be pretty nasty. I've been wanting to try a gummy rear tire for awhile now. Last night was a cold, slimmy, rocky, tree root, slick log night. I put on a Gauntlet 140/80-18 size with a semi soft mousse and I was amazed. I love this tire. Worked everywhere. I have never had so much confidence in crossing angled trees, climbing clay, steep, tree rooted up hills as last night.
I was also surprised to see how well it stayed cleaned out in the clay. Had a blast. I rode for about an hour and a half and it shows little wear. Curious to see how long it will hold up.
